Leadership Institute: Save the Date

On Monday, October 22, 2007, the young women in our Leadership Institute will be presenting their video on teenaged pregnancy. The event will take place at the Bayanihan Community Center at 1010 Mission Street @ 6th from 5:30-7. The entrance is on Mission Street.

About the Leadership Institute:
The objective of the Leadership Institute is to strengthen the leadership and commitment of San Francisco young women to powerfully transform their own lives and communities.

Through the Institute, Oasis aims to:
1) Train at least fifteen young women in basic leadership skills and a human rights framework.
2) To engage in a local issue for youth through advocacy and/or peer education.
3) To foster unity, support and understanding between young women from diverse communities.
4) To have participants for further involvement in Oasis for Girls, through hiring Institute participants as youth staff and drive membership activities.
