Oasis for Girls is seeking a collaborative partner for its summer 2009 Arts Apprenticeship. Artists/representatives are asked to submit project ideas in writing to Jessica Van Tuyl, Program Manager at jvantuyl@sfoasis.org by December 15th, 2008. Join an amazing group of young women in making our 10th anniversary year a memorable one! Past artistic collaborators have included Anne Bluethenthal and ABD Productions with Kharyshi Washington and Alyah Baker, community artist and muralist Ana Fernandez, Marisa Jahn and the Clarion Mural Alley Project, Jo Kreiter and Flyway Productions, and Maria del Carmen Carrion with New Langton Arts. Sistah Healing Circle
Join youth staff Maddy and Jah' Torri for Oasis membership event on Friday, November 21 from 4:30 - 6:30. With the many unfortunate events that have been going on, we are having a Sistah Healing Circle. This is open to girls and young women to come together in a safe space to share stories of struggle and paths to survival on a personal and local le
vel. We will be lighting candles for those we want to remember and respect and provide a list of resources girls can use if they need extra support. Please contact Maddy or Jah' Torri for more information at 415-701-7991.
